Dress code...
We want everyone to feel special, comfortable and beautifully themselves.
But, if you're like me, having a chance to dress up a little is always fun!
Something you can be comfy in, as it's not a sit-down thing, there'll be walking around, and if you want, maybe some beach walks.Â
Loads of folks mingling all night long, and there will be live music and dancing.Â
Dress for a garden-themed beach wedding.
The bridal party are going for a pastel coloured mismatched theme.Â
Guys, wear a shirt and suit pants, a tie and jacket are optional. Aaron's going for chinos and a nice shirt with a vest. He's not a tie guy.
Not really too formal, but, you know, nice 🙂
Dress for the weather...
P.S. The weather in Sorrento in May can be unpredictable, particularly fronting the ocean. The ceremony will be held outdoors overlooking the ocean, it can get windy. We recommend checking the weather, bringing a coat, and wearing layers, as it could be warm and sunny, it could be freezing.Â
There's a lovely fireplace indoors, and there will be dancing and a social atmosphere. So, prepare for all temperatures (Melbournites know what we're talking about).Â
What You Really Want to Know About...The Food!
You'll be served an endless cocktail-style menu, throughout the entire reception. They have guaranteed that there will be, and I quote, "NO trips to Maccas on the way home and NO standing in the door waiting to get fed". The spread looks absolutely delicious!
When you complete your RSVP form, we'll ask you about dietary requirements. Please make sure you specify what you can't have and who can't have it, including whether it's an allergy or an intolerance, so that the venue can make sure you have lots of appropriate options, and so we can keep everyone safe and feeling good.
Our wedding is by invitation only.
Check your emailed invitation to access the RSVP form.
The venue require viewing the emailed invitation as a condition of entry. Please ensure you can show the invitation email when you arrive.
The Plan
Arrive by 3:15pm for a 3:30pm ceremony.
Join us as we say our vows overlooking Sorrento's beautiful ocean beach from 3:30pm.Â
As our photos are taken, following the ceremony, you'll enjoy awaiting grazing platters, delicious nibblies and a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic bevies (including a large variety of cocktails, beer, cider, wine, soft drinks, juice, tea and barista coffee).Â
When our smiles begin hurting, we'll come up to meet you at the venue, when we'll move on to some fun speeches and giggles, before getting moving on the dancefloor! The RSVP form asks for some of your favorite songs, please contribute!
We've organised a great live acoustic duo to entertain you all night!
The venue has a comfy lounge area, a lovely fireplace, seating and tables and chairs, overlooking the rolling ocean. We want you all to feel relaxed and comfy while having so much fun! There are no seating arrangements, just mingling and a nice, casual social atmosphere.
There's also space for you to have some time out if you feel you need a breather at any point.Â
Things you should know...
There's ample parking right outside the venue.Â
We'll be doing a small amount of walking outside (grassed ceremony area, pretty stable for those with wheelchairs or mobility aids), and there might be photos on the sand for those inclined to do so (not required though).
Ladies – Wear your favorite outfit with comfy, danceable shoes. It's a slate tiled floor, Margie is considering stylised runners for dancing, frankly.Â
Gentlemen: Wear your favorite (only?) suit, and a cool tie or bowtie. Feel free to leave your jacket at home if you're not that kind of guy.
For those with mobility challenges, we've organised ramps to assist with wheelchair access, and we've ensured that all areas of the venue are quite accessible. This was highly important to us in choosing our venue, we've got you!
GETTING TO THE VENUE
We've also thought about our Geelong/Bellarine Peninsula friends and family (because there's a lot of you guys). We chose this spot in part because it's quite easily accessed using the ferry from Queenscliff. The venue is approximately a 5 minute drive from the ferry point (or a 25 minute walk apparently). Here's their link:
It's about one and half hours drive south of Melbourne CBD, depending on traffic.Â
For those coming from New Zealand/Fiji/Scotland/the UK, you'll probably need to fly/float/teleport. There's no local ferry for that. We're so pumped you're coming just for us! Thanks so much!
